New Age Electronics Selects Oracle® Applications
Over SAP and Microsoft

Consumer Technology Leader to Benefit from Integrated View of Customer and Manufacturing Partner Transactions with Oracle E-Business Suite Special Edition

REDWOOD SHORES, Calif., July 11, 2005 – New Age Electronics, Inc. (New Age), a leading provider of consumer technology sales and supply chain solutions, has selected Oracle® E-Business Suite Special Edition over other applications to improve integration and collaboration between its diverse business divisions, Oracle announced today.  New Age invested in Oracle to provide customers such as Costco.com, Target.com, military exchanges and CDW, as well as its manufacturer partners, with accurate, more timely information.

After experiencing sharp growth, New Age outgrew its legacy enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems from Microsoft.  The company began to evaluate alternative solutions, including Oracle, SAP and another group of products from Microsoft.  New Age’s decision to go with Oracle was driven by the need for a fully integrated system that would position the company for further growth while streamlining marketing programs, inventory and pricing.  With Oracle, New Age is able to provide non-direct customers critical information required to make strategic business decisions and to gain a competitive market advantage.

Because New Age has assembled a comprehensive suite of digital photography, computing, entertainment, imaging and connectivity products, the company needed a way to better manage information for its vendors and partners.  Oracle provided New Age a wholly integrated suite of applications that will easily allow it to share timely, accurate information with consumer technology (CT) customers such as HP, Panasonic and Sharp, as well as national and regional retailers.

“With Oracle’s mid-market Special Edition offering we can take advantage of enterprise-level functionality that is affordable and easy for a company of our size to implement and use effectively,” said Adam Carroll, president of New Age Electronics.  “The consumer tech market is often unpredictable and fast-paced.  But with Oracle, we’ll have the ability to move quickly, to keep pace with the market and manufacturers, and to ensure that we’re consistent in meeting deliverables for our customers.”

Building an Integrated, Flexible Solution

New Age will rely on Oracle Advanced Supply Chain Planning, part of the Oracle E-Business Suite Special Edition, to build a holistic supply chain management solution that combines long-range planning with short-term constraint-based optimization.  Oracle applications will help New Age leverage forecast data to keep supply chain plans up-to-date.  Also, available-to-promise optimization and constraint-based planning capabilities will help ensure maximum profitability for New Age’s vendors and customers.  Oracle Advanced Supply Chain Planning will allow the company to respond immediately to market shifts, retailer needs and manufacturer constraints without disrupting the channel.  “Delivering our products on-time is essential to our business,” said Carroll.  “With Oracle, not only will we be able to better meet our product deadlines as our business continues to grow, we’ll be able to keep customers continuously – and accurately – up to date on the status of shipments and orders.”

New Age’s world class service enhancing activities will also improve with Oracle Trade Management.  The company needed a way to manage sales and marketing initiatives across its entire business.  Oracle Trade Management will give New Age the ability to perform cost-benefit analyses to determine the ideal product, price and promotion for every customer target.

“New Age Electronic’s investment in Oracle applications will enable the company to keep pace with its steady growth without sacrificing the level of service its customers and manufacturer partners count on,” said Frank Prestipino, vice president, global application strategy at Oracle.  “Relying on Oracle’s solution, New Age will benefit from enterprise-level functionality and capabilities that are unlike competitive offerings available today.”
